iPhone 4 or Droid X

There are many great phones out there. I have a phone with a touchscreen and a sliding keypad, but no Internet. It does not get very good service at my house. I want a phone that has texting, Internet, and good service at our house. I looked up a comparison chart, and I found two for the iPhone 4 and the Droid X on iphonestuffs4u.com. One chart has cost, and the other has most everything else. I found a few things from other sites that the chart is lacking, but the charts have pretty much everything I need to know. They have lots of information about the two phones, anything from manufacturer to camera flash. Which phone is worth more for the features it has?
The physical characteristics of the iPhone 4 and the Droid X have minimal differences. Their size is similar, they both have a camera. The iPhone 4 weighs nearly 5 ounces; the Droid X weighs closer to 5 ½. The Droid X’s length and width are both just a bit bigger than the iPhone 4’s. The small size difference does not matter much to me, but I would not want my phone to be to big. The display size has a bit more of a difference, though, with the Droid X’s being 0.8 inches larger than the iPhone 4’s. The iPhone 4’s screen resolution is better than the Droid X’s, with a 640x960 pixels compared to 480x854. Both have software for a keyboard, but the Droid X has SWYPE also. The Droid X’s camera is better than the iPhone 4’s; its 8 MP compared to 5. The Droid X has 2 flashes and the iPhone only has a singular flash. As shown, there are no drastic differences between the two phones’ appearance or general outside features.
I definitely want my phone to have lots of memory and battery, and be very fast. The iPhone 4 can be bought with 16 or 32 GB of memory, more than the Droid X’s 8 GB of memory. Although the iPhone has more, it cannot have any expansion by cards and the Droid X’s can; it can go up to 40 GB, more than the iPhone 4’s.  Their RAM is the same; 512 MB each. Both phones have a 1 GHz processor. I want good battery life on my phone, and the phones are pretty close. With battery life I would prefer the Droid X. The iPhone 4 has 1470 mAH of battery, and the Droid X has 1540.  With speed and memory the two phones are close, but there is a greater difference with the battery.
Both phones come with Internet, but their cost gets more complicated. They get Wifi, but the Droid X has a Wifi hot spot and the iPhone 4 does not come with it; it is another cost that can be added on. They can multitask which is a feature I would like because I enjoy doing that on my computer; my current phone cannot. They use Webkit for their browser. With Internet the only difference is the WiFi hot spot; only the Droid X has that. Their cost is the same for the two phones, but once all of the media and messaging has been accounted for it is different. Both of the phones themselves cost $199.00. With all of the calling, texting and data it adds up to much more. My chart shows the costs with a contract for the limited messaging and calling for two years, and with that the iPhone costs $1638.76, and the Droid X is several hundred dollars more with $1998.52. That is only with limited messaging, voice, and data; if you alter them and make them greater or some of them unlimited, they are both close to $3000. The iPhone 4 with regular or unlimited costs less. The big differences with Internet and cost are with the costs.
Though the iPhone 4 and the Droid X are both advanced phones, I think I know which one I would prefer. Even the main differences between the two are not that drastic. The main differences are with the cost that involves the messaging and data, screen size and resolution, and camera. The screen resolution and size are not that important to me, and as long as they both have a camera, its good enough. Between the iPhone 4 and the Droid X, I would choose the Droid X. The iPhone 4 is a great phone, but the Droid X is greater. To me it seems that the Droid X is more advanced than the iPhone 4 in the majority of the categories. I can live with the features of the Droid X that I do not like, such as the SWYPE keyboard which would probably get in my way. The greater price, is not that bad, but it would be good to have the iPhone 4’s lower costs. I am fine without some of the things the iPhone 4 has. The better screen resolution would be nice, and the larger built-in memory. I love Apple devices, but it is OK that the Droid X is not one. The greater battery life is the main individual thing that really matters to me with choosing the Droid X. Overall I would choose the Droid X because it is just a little bit better in everything.
